The following is a list of North Hill PTA sponsored programs. There are events and activities to fit every interest! If there's something you think our students would love, and it's not on the list, please reach out to us at nhillpta@gmail.com! We're always open to volunteers taking the lead to start something new!

 

On that note, there are also Volunteer Opportunities to fit anyone's interest and availability. These events/programs are completely dependent on volunteers--if you're interested in helping a little or a lot, email us and we will find the perfect fit for you!

 

              

  

 

**SCHOOL EVENTS**


Hoot Scoot – Be a part of North Hill’s largest fundraiser—our school-wide “fun run.” Proceeds fund PTA programs for the school year. Volunteers are needed to assist during the event.


Welcome Back Bash – Help get the school year off to a good start. Volunteers needed to plan and organize our first event of the year.


Authors in April – Week-long event with three authors visiting North Hill. Volunteers needed to process book orders and organize author visits.


Reflections – School, district, and national art contest revolving around a different theme each year. Volunteers needed to collect student submissions and organize school event.


Disability Awareness – 3rd grade students learn about physical and learning disabilities through an interactive experience at the RCS Administration Building. Volunteers needed to distribute information to classrooms and organize volunteers.


4th Grade Health Fair – 4th grade students are educated on various health issues with interactive displays provided by the district. Volunteers are needed to organize volunteers and set-up.


International Festival – Family event that allows students to experience other countries and cultures. Volunteers are needed to organize “hosts” for different countries and plan the event.


Science Fair – Annual event that showcases brilliant minds at work. Volunteers needed to help organize and run the event.


Girls & Special Person Event – Fun event for the girls at North Hill. Volunteers needed to organize and run the event.


Boys & Special Person Event – Fun event for the boys at North Hill. Volunteers needed to organize and run the event.


Family Fun Nights – Fun activities for the families of North Hill. Volunteers needed to organize and run events.


Roller Skating Party – Planned on a “no school” or half day with our neighboring elementary school. Volunteers needed to organize, handle ticket sales, and check-in at the event.


5th Grade Farewell – Special events to help our 5th graders have a memorable last year at North Hill. Volunteers needed to organize farewell party and graduation ceremony.

 

 

**BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES**


Math Pentathlon – Interactive math-based games to strengthen basic math concepts and creative thinking. Volunteers needed to coach grade level teams before or after school.


Health and Wellness – Educate our students on a healthy lifestyle. Volunteers needed for a variety of events throughout the school year – running club, walk and bike to school day, mileage club, and field day.


Art Smart – This incredible enrichment program brings art into each classroom. Volunteers are needed for each classroom to deliver a short presentation and then direct an inspired art project.


Junior Achievement – This program brings real world curriculum regarding the workforce, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Volunteers needed for each classroom. All materials are provided.


Junior Great Books – A reading enrichment program available to upper elementary students that builds comprehension and critical thinking skills. Volunteers needed for each grade to lead literary discussions during lunch/recess.


Science Enrichments – Help promote and support science at North Hill. Volunteers needed to help organize workshops and science-related activities for students.


Lego Club – This club uses engineering basics through the use of toys. Volunteers needed to run this club before or after school.


Maker Space – An after school activity that encourages creativity by allowing the students to design, build, and experiment making something out of random items. Volunteers needed to organize and run this club before or after school. 


Birthday Lunches – Help celebrate ALL of our students’ birthdays. Volunteers are needed to organize small gifts during lunches once a month.


Holiday Shoppe – A pop-up shop at North Hill for students to holiday shop for family and friends. Volunteers needed for sales assistance and cashiers.

 


**BEHIND THE SCENES**

 

Copy Cats – Make copies and do small clerical tasks for teachers and para pros so they can spend more time in the classroom. Ideally one hour per week, but you can sign up for what dates work for you.

 

Clothes Closet – Inventory what clothes are needed, create sign up genius to get donations, organize and stay on top of inventory throughout the winter season. 


Founders Day – A reminder of the substantial role that PTA plays in supporting parent involvement, children and families. Volunteers needed to nominate candidates from North Hill and assist with the district ceremony.


Beautification – Help keep North Hill looking its best. Volunteers needed to assist with the upkeep of the landscaping and seasonal decorations.


Laminating – Volunteers are needed to help out our staff laminate student projects throughout the school year.


Membership – Volunteers are needed to help process written membership requests and submit documents electronically to the State PTA.


Staff Recognition – We love our administration, bus drivers, counselors, computer techs, custodians, café staff, para-educators, school-age care givers, and secretaries. Volunteers are needed to brainstorm and help deliver smiles.


Teacher Appreciation – A group committed to letting our teachers know we care. Volunteers are needed to organize thoughtful gifts each month and meals during parent teacher conferences.


Yearbook – Volunteers needed to help organize memories in our annual yearbook. Duties to include, photography, page layouts, orders, and distribution.


Owl Mail – Who doesn’t love receiving mail? This is a fun delivery system for parents and staff to send postcards to North Hill students. Volunteers are needed to organize, promote, and deliver mail.


School Kits – Ready-to-go school kits are offered for each grade level at the end of each school year. Volunteers needed to distribute order forms and organize pick-up in the fall.


Meals on Wheels – Help contribute to a district-wide activity delivering meals to local senior citizens. Volunteers needed to assist with deliveries several times a year.

 

Lost & Found – Volunteers needed to sort, organize, and set up pick up of items collected in the Lost & Found. This needs to be done multiple times throughout the school year.

 

 

**COMMITTEES**


Legislative – This group actively advocates for education and legislation in local, state and federal issues. Volunteer needed to attend district meetings and report back at PTA meetings.


STEAM – Science, technology, engineering, art and math. This committee requires a volunteer to attend district meetings and share information.


Diversity and Inclusion – This district committee promotes multi-cultural inclusion. Volunteers are needed to attend district meetings and organize school events that support district efforts.


Green Committee – This district committee educates the North Hill community on the ideas of “reduce, recycle and reuse”. Volunteers are needed to attend district meetings and organize school-wide events.


Parent Advisory Committee – A source for families who have current or new students with an IEP. Volunteers are needed to attend meetings at the district level and share information.


Safe Routes – Focuses on the promotion of safer access to and from school when walking, biking, scooting, or alike. Volunteers needed to be advocates and brainstorm new ideas.


Nominating Committee – Volunteers are needed to help recruit and recommend qualified candidates for the 2024-2025 PTA Board
